Wearing in autumn and winter

We often get asked what to consider when carrying in the colder season, so here's some important information from us.

Children under one year of age should preferably be carried under a babywearing jacket or a babywearing cover, as they cannot yet regulate their own temperature.

They wear their normal clothes as they would at home, e.g., a bodysuit, trousers, jumper, and socks. In addition, wool socks, leg warmers, or booties are recommended, depending on how cold it is. The carrier or baby wrap replaces a layer of clothing, so your child doesn't need to wear a wool jumpsuit, as you are carrying them under the cover or jacket. Finally, the head should also be kept warm with a hat.

Children over one year of age do not necessarily have to be carried under a jacket or cover anymore. Some are already walking and might only want to be in the carrier or wrap for a short break. In this case, a wool jumpsuit is recommended. Please do not put on a snowsuit or a thick jacket, as the air layers will be compressed by carrying, and your child would get cold. Wool, on the other hand, balances temperatures and keeps your child warm. If shoes have gotten wet and need to be taken off, we also have great booties, for example, that are lined with merino wool and keep the feet nice and warm.
